Course summary

Boro is a traditional Japanese mending technique that was developed to extend the lives of clothes, often over generations.

Using this simple hand sewing technique participants will learn to make a beautiful purse. No experience is required.

What you will learn

  • Traditional Japanese Boro mending and crafting techniques

What you will get

A purse made from traditional Japanese fabrics guided by online tutorials.

A materials kit along with instructions will be supplied (just let us know two or three of your favourite colours).

About the tutor

Our very popular presenter Anne Douglas is taking this workshop. Anne is extremely knowledgeable and patient and teaches craft and food related classes across Melbourne.

Course dates

Date      Saturday 16 & 23 May  3pm-3.30pm

To help you get started we will provide a 30 minute tutorial via zoom on Saturday 16 May at 3pm. This will be followed by a second 30 minute tutorial on Saturday 23 May at 3pm to help you finish off your project.
