Afternoon Tea – Sharing Traditions

This will include talks on the traditions and history behind high tea, yum cha and an African coffee ceremony. This will be followed by eating and socialising. Come and share stories and learn about these dining experiences that have long been traditions all over the world.

Local History – A walk through Kensington

Kensington has a rich history of diversity and has been home to people from a range of backgrounds for many years. This will be a guided walk along the historic Kensington Stock route, telling the story of the saleyards, different waves of immigration and finishing up at the Chinese Heavenly Queen Temple for a tour.

Return to the Dollhouse Exhibition Launch

Return to the Dollhouse is a project that bought together a group of local women to create a hand-sewn doll of how they see themselves as women. The Exhibition and Launch of this project will bring together the dolls of 2018 with those made 25 years ago by another group of local women. Along with the display of dolls there will be stories and photographs of the women involved.

This event will be a come and try workshop that features henna painting, calligraphy and jewellery making. We encourage everyone to come and try these art forms and learn about their history and significance in various cultures.
