About the event
Alebrijes (pronounced “Allay-bree-hase”) are beings with the features of one or more real or imaginary animals. These brightly coloured sculptures are one of the most famous folk crafts in Mexico. In this workshop you will paint and decorate your very own Alebrijes as well as learn more about the cultures and traditions of Latin America. Anyone over 8 years old can join this session. All materials are supplied.
Tutor Irma and Catherine from Colibri Stories
Colibri Stories emerged in 2022 with the desire to respond to the recognition, appropriation and appreciation of Latin American history and culture. They expose others to these deep histories and cultures through creativity and curiosity made into art.
