About the event

Edith Chen has written a book about her father, who was wrongly convicted of murder in Taiwan in 1960. Begining with an overview of the environment in Taiwan after WW2, Edith writes about the Wuhan Grand Hotel case 1959-1960 and the legal journey that followed until 2006. The book uncovers details about the miscarriage of justice as it has impacted on her family and the familes of the other people accused as well as the gradual liberalisation of Taiwanese political life thereafter.
