Kensington Neighbourhood House has a long history of develeoping adult education and training that responds directly to community needs. This was recognised recently at the 2026 Learn Local Awards where we won the "Small Provider of The Year" category.

The Learn Local Awards are run by the Victorian State Government to acknowldge the amazing work done by organisations across the State who offer pre-accredited education.

Our award was in recognition of high level performance in improving foundation skills for work, study and life. It also acknowledged the way KNH supprts different leaner needs and works with partner organisations to link learners with employment or further study.

Big thanks to all of our teachers: Alexandros Bino (EAL classes), Marg Bergin, Trish Crane & Ayan Daher (Sew & Grow classes), Jane Farrell (Computer classes) and Nicole Johnson (Education Manager and Micro-Business teacher). Thanks also to our partner organisations: Cultivating Community, Debeney Meadows Primary School, Mecwacare, MiCare, and The Community Grocer.
